I went to see another historical site the other day. This one is pretty tame, its located in Clyde Bland Park at the end of Lowell. This is a little one room school house that was built for some of the first local familys in 1878. It has been restored and I am happy to report it is in exellent shape, also the park is really nice except for all of the noise from the 205 Traffic.
Click here to check out the little mini-video tour I put together playing around with google video and my camera. I put Sugar Magnolia by the Greatful Dead in the backround.
From the Stockton Record:
"Tracy's Lammersville School was erected when local families got together to built a school for their children, Pepper said. The families pooled their resources to pay for a teacher and took turns providing the educator's room and board. During the Gold Rush, you had schools springing up everywhere across the county," he said.
